Name: Bing Futch Concert on The Bowery Stage at Winnsboro Center for the Arts
Date: May 17, 2014
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM CDT
Bing Futch and Deb Porter
Event Description:
Bing Futch makes his first stop ever in Winnsboro on May 17th.  Using Appalachian mountain dulcimer, Native American flute, ukulele, drums and electronic effects, he deftly navigates the varied waters of folk and pop with passion, wit and a genuinely huge heart for sharing music with a crowd.  His casual way with any audience, coupled with a fierce originality on the lesser known mountain dulcimer, makes each show a one-of-a-kind and good-timing romp.

Opening for Bing will be Debbie Porter, who began her musical career very early, singing the songs learned from her Grandmother.  In recent years Deb has settled into the folk music scene producing lovely recordings with some of Texas’ favorite musicians, teaching through workshops and DVDs, and authoring a dulcimer book on the Carter Family and a new Treasury of Tunes book.
